Sony surprised by launching an electric car

Vision-S

PMmedia Adv.

From the distinguished Sony brand it is expected everything, perhaps a new mobile phone model, or perhaps a new and more modern gaming console, but the launch of a car is completely unforeseen. It is true, however, that the Japanese company presented a car this year, in the largest technology fair in the world, CES (Consumer Electronics Show). Adding to PlayStation 5 and to a number of new products, the Japanese company surprised when taking Vision-S, a prototype of an electric sedan, a kind of technology showcase that is distinguished above all by bringing together the most reputed autonomous driving technologies, connectivity and infoentertainment systems. Continental, ZF, Bosch, Nvidia and Qualcomm were just a few of the suppliers requested by Sony for this new project. It was the Austrian company Magna Steyr that designed the platform and it was in its facilities that the Sony tram was built. Knowing most of the technical details of this prototype, it is known, however, that this electric sedan offers full traction and has two engines with 200 kW (272 hp) each. The maximum speed will be limited to 240 km/h, with acceleration of 0-100 km/h which can be made in 4.8 seconds.
